These are the friendly, plain-language rules for using Haley's Launchpad. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Haley's Launchpad is a small, family-made learning app offered free of charge, so please read these terms with that spirit in mind.
1 Who can use Haley's Launchpad
Accounts are for parents and guardians (adults 18 and older). Children use the app under a profile that a parent creates and manages for them — children do not sign up on their own. By creating an account, you confirm you are an adult and that you have the authority to set up profiles for the children you add.
2 Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your login details and your children's PINs private.
- Please provide accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
- You're responsible for the activity that happens under your account and your children's profiles.
- You can delete a child profile at any time, or delete your entire account by emailing us.
3 Children and supervision
Haley's Launchpad is designed to be used by children with a grown-up nearby. You, the parent, decide what information to enter about your child, review their progress and writing, and stay in control of their data. Please supervise young children as appropriate. How we handle your family's data is described in our Privacy Policy.
4 Acceptable use
Please use the app the way it's meant to be used. Don't:
- Try to break, overload, hack, or reverse-engineer the app or its security.
- Access data belonging to other families, or attempt to.
- Upload or submit content that is unlawful, hateful, or harmful.
- Use the app to violate any law or anyone else's rights.
We may suspend or remove access for anyone who misuses the app.
5 Content and ownership
The lessons, stories, characters, artwork, and design of Haley's Launchpad belong to its creator. You may use them for your family's personal, non-commercial learning — please don't copy, resell, or redistribute them.
Anything your child writes or submits inside the app stays yours. By using the app, you allow us to store and display that content back to you as part of the service (for example, so you can review your child's writing). We don't claim ownership of it.
6 The app is provided "as is"
Haley's Launchpad is a labor of love offered free of charge, with no guarantees. The app is provided "as is" and "as available." We try hard to keep it running, accurate, and safe, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that progress data will never be lost. It's an educational supplement, not a replacement for school, a curriculum, or a teacher.
7 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the creator of Haley's Launchpad is not liable for any indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app. Because the app is provided free of charge, any liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. Some places don't allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.
8 Changes and ending the service
We may update these terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. We may also add features, change how the app works, or discontinue it. If we ever shut the service down, we'll make a reasonable effort to let account holders know. You can stop using the app at any time.
